About

Two weeks ago, Seamus and I were sitting in a restaurant at the top of a volcano in Tenerife when we decided to set ourselves the challenge of trying all the cuisines of the world.

After a few glasses of wine, this sounded like an excellent idea and a way of, not only learning about different cultures, but also developing a few culinary skills and providing inspiration for a new blog.

Unfortunately, the culinary skill bit seemed to get a bit lost at country number one but the ambition of eating ourselves round the world (from the comfort of London) remains.

So, using the wikipedia list of sovereign states as our guide and with the inclusion of disputed states for a bit of added interest, we’ve committed to putting aside one evening a week to see what interesting foods the rest of the world has to offer –

Abkhazia is week number one.
